A New Trail Starts Here

Welcome to MountainsCalling.me — I’m glad you’re here. 😄

For as long as I’ve been online, my goal has been to share my National Park adventures with the world. Since around 2008, I’ve been posting photos, videos, and moments from the wild places I roam. But platforms come with limits — tiny captions, compressed photos, and algorithms that aren’t built for real storytelling.

So why start a website if I’ve already been sharing for years?

Because this place lets me slow down. It gives me room to tell the full story behind an image, the details from a trail, the thoughts I’m having while standing in front of something impossibly wild. A picture might be worth 1,000 words… but sometimes I actually want to use all 1,000 of them.

I’ve visited 62 of the 63 U.S. National Parks, and every one of them has shaped me in some way. This site will be where I go deeper — the moments that don’t fit into 300 characters, the memories that deserve more than a quick scroll, and the reflections that shape how I see the world.

And yes… Kali will be here too. 🐶 She’s explored more parks than most people ever will, and she’s a huge part of this journey with me.

My hope is that this space inspires you to get outside, to step into wild places, and to feel the same sense of awe that keeps pulling me back to the parks. I’ll share stories from the trail, behind-the-scenes moments, gear thoughts, lessons learned, and the deeper emotions that never quite make it into a social caption.

I’m still active on other platforms — that isn’t changing.
But this will be something different. Something deeper. Something new.
