I have been interested in the outdoors since a very early age. Camping and spending time in the woods was my favorite thing to do as a Scout.
My first National Park visit was in 2008 (Haleakala). Then in 2009 my brothers and I did a backpacking trip to Great Smokey Mountains which solidified my passion for backpacking.
Later in 2009 the Ken Burns special “Americas Best Idea” was released and I said right then “I am going to see ALL of the National Parks“!! I started planning for a 2 week trip to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks during the summer of 2010. It was one of the most memorable and formative experiences of my life – and I was hooked on National Parks and the mountains.
Since then I have visited 62 of 63 National Parks across 180+ individual visits.
My favorite National Park is Yosemite. I spend more time there than any other park.
I will reach my goal of #63 National Parks in late 2025.
When I am in wild places I love to take photos and videos to share my experiences. I take mostly landscape photos and nightsky astrophotography – and wildlife whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I am making posts on TikTok (profile link) and BlueSky (profile link) where I connect with like-minded folks and maintain several feeds dedicated to National Parks such as Yosemite, Yellowstone, Katmai, etc
